UV Radiation Curing - New technology of Surface Curing

The basic meaning of radiation curing is to use ultraviolet UV or electron beam to trigger the solidification process of liquid formula with chemical activity on the substrate surface to realize rapid reaction.

1.Ultraviolet Light and Electron Beam

Ultraviolet light and electron beam can be regarded as the members of the large family of radiation. The ultraviolet light is an electromagnetic radiation and the electron beam is the accelerated high-energy electron flow.

UV-C (100~280nm), UV-B (280~315nm) and UV-A (315-380nm) are subdivided into UV-C (100~280nm), UV-B (280~315nm) and UV-A (315~380nm). The ultraviolet light source used in radiation curing is usually ultraviolet lamp which is excited by electric energy.

Electron beam is also a kind of radiation, it is a batch of accelerated electron flow, the particle energy is much higher than ultraviolet ray, can make air ionize, so high energy electron beam also can be called ionizing radiation. Electron beam curing usually does not require photo-initiator, which can induce chemical reaction directly, and the penetration of material is much larger than that of ultraviolet light. The device that produces an electron beam is called an electron accelerator. A scanning electron accelerator used in radiation curing is very similar to a television set used by households. In the television, the accelerated electron flow scanning TV screen can obtain the visual information, and the electron beam of the electron accelerator in the radiation curing can be scanned to realize the curing process.
